Healthy Foods to Eat & Simple Healthy Eating Tips That Work!

1.  Have A Daily Anti Oxidant Feast - Loading up on foods high in anti oxidants daily is the key to looking 10-15 years younger.  It's also a great way to eat a nutrient dense low calorie diet.  Somer recommends 9 servings of fruits and veggies per day which is easy to do if you have two servings of fruits and/or veggies with five mini meals or two servings with 3 meals and another 2 servings with 1 snack.  Below is a simple list of healthy foods to eat plus a delicious recipe from Eat Your Way Sexy.

Simple List of Healthy Foods to Eat

  • Beans: garbanzo, black, adzuki, navy, kidney, white, lentils, pinto, red and any other beans
  • Cruciferous Vegetables: spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, arugula, swiss chard, chicory, collard greens, mustard greens, dandelion greens, brussels sprouts, bok choy, turnip, watercress, radishes, horseradish

2.  Cut Down Portions of Non Fruit/Veg Foods -  According to Somer, cutting down on caffeine, alcohol, and sugar and cutting back on proteins, fats, dairy, and starchy carbs is key to a leaner sexier body.  This is easy to do when you're eating 9 servings of fruits and veggies daily.  To get in the habit of  eating more fruits and veggies and less of everything else start each meal with healthy salads, a piece of fruit, veggie soup, or homemade veggie juice.  Not only does this cut calories it also curbs cravings for sweets and junk food.

Dark leafy greens have been found to reduce junk/sugar cravings.  A great way to increase your intake is to blend them into weight loss smoothies or green superfood smoothies.

3.  Place A Mirror In Your Kitchen or Dining Room - Have you ever noticed how you eat less food and make somewhat healthier choices when you think somebody is watching and judging your behavior?  Most women and some men are much better at portion control and healthy choices when they perceive that others are judging their eating behavior and according to Somer "a mirror can have the same observer effect; people eat less when they can see themselves eating."  Now she didn't recommend you do it buttnekid but that is an option if you really need some motivation!
