Female Body Type Workout Tips

There are so many female body type systems but so few workout plans that actually address each body type in a way that can help you get your best body ever.

What Is Your True Female Body Type?

There are countless body type systems also known as somatotypes out there but they place you into 4 basic categories and finding your category is super easy. Just think back to a time when you were at or close to your desired weight and size and that is your true body type. No need to measure or take quizzes to find your body type simply look at the pics and descriptions below and compare to a picture of yourself at your leanest and you'll know in an instant.

Rectangle Body Type

Rectangle - also known as ruler, banana, H frame, column, tube, lean, straight, or boyish figure. According to researchers most women today fall into this body type and there are many variations of this type. The more scientific body type systems would classify this type as an ectomorph or possibly a liver body type.  This is also my body type.

Best Workout Strategy for The Ruler Body Type: The ruler needs to focus on building the booty and carving out a smaller waist with smart workouts that tone and tighten the entire body. The key thing with this body type is not to get too lean or you lose the curves.

Triangle Body Type

Triangle Body Type

Triangle - also known as a pyramid, A frame, pear shape, spoon, bubble butt, junk in the trunk or bootyliscious. The more scientific body type systems would classify this type as an endo-mesomorph or possibly an ovary body type. In the past few years this body type has become even more famous and popular than the hourglass body type.

Best Workout Strategy for The Pyramid Body Type: The A frame needs to burn off excess lower body fat with workouts that don't bulk up the lower body. This body type also needs to build a bit of lean muscle in the arms, shoulders, and back to balance out the lower body.

Inverted Triangle Body Type

Inverted Triangle Body Type

Inverted Triangle - also known as cone, V frame, apple, strawberry, diamond, top heavy, busty or athletic. The more scientific body type systems would classify this type as a mesomorph or possibly an adrenal body type. This may be the most overlooked body type but not sure why since most female athletes and a few very famous celebs fall into this category.

Best Workout Strategy for The Cone Body Type: The diamond shape is the most tricky of all the body types and needs more leg and butt workouts along with a bit of core work that cinches the waist and minimizes the arms, shoulders, and back.

Opposing Triangles - also known as an hourglass, figure 8, an X frame, curvy, full figured, corset, guitar, cello, the ideal shape (no fruit name for this though). The truth is there is no ideal body type and hourglass girls have their own unique body issues too. The more scientific body type systems would classify this type as a meso-endomorph or possibly a thyroid body type.

Best Workout Strategy for The Hourglass Body Type: The figure 8 needs to focus on fatloss, fatloss, fatloss! This body type tends to look heavier than it is so the most important thing to focus on is keeping body fat levels in the fitness range. Stick with full body workouts that blast tons of fat, tone and strengthen the entire body.
