Working out consistently and not getting the body you want? It's not you it's your workout plan! There are only 2 types of workout plans: 1. workout plans that boost YOUR health, fitness levels and get you your best body ever or 2. workout plans that harm your body and do absolutely nothing to get you the body you want.
Believe it or not 90% of clients that hire me to help them finally get results hire me because they've only learned the wrong way to train from other trainers, fitness videos, or amateur fitness bloggers who have ZERO experience working with real clients.
Can you imagine paying hundreds of dollars to a trainer and NEVER getting any results or worst getting painful injuries from their poorly designed workouts. I could tell you all kinds of client horror stories about this but even I've made the mistake of training wrong for my body type and of harming my body instead of improving my body.
The reason this happens to women and even to fitness experts like me is what I like to call more is better mentality. The idea that more or harder or longer exercise is the only thing that will get you the body you want. But as you can see in the video below, more intensity may get you fit but it doesn't always get you the body you're after.
The video above is actually the first video I ever uploaded to youtube in 2009 when I was on some ridiculously hardcore workout plan designed by some big name trainer who's credentials I never bothered to question until I realized how thick my waist and thighs were getting.
Not only was I NOT getting my dream body but I struggled with low energy and exercise motivation daily. I hated those harsh workouts not only because they were NOT working but subconsciously I knew that I was training wrong for my body type and goals.
Notice how much different my body looks now (I'm 10 lb lighter and my waist is almost 5 inches smaller). Plus these days I just don't "need motivation" of any kind to workout. I just do it because it feels good and it helps me accomplish all my goals not just my fitness goals.
So my body type workout tip is: Don't just do it, do it smarter, do it right, and do what is going to work for YOUR unique body. When you train right for your body type you will never "need motivation" to train. You will just want to do it because it feels awesome AND gets you all the results you're after : )
